Video games are some of the most influential activities ever made, allowing players to play as detailed characters, explore worlds, and learn useful skills and facts to use in real life. Games can be used to help people with real issues and are not always meant for entertainment. Habitica: Gamify Your Tasks

Staying motivated and organized is not easy for everyone. This is a free mobile app on Apple and Google Play store to make those tasks fun! “Input your Habits, your Daily goals, and your To-Do list, and then create a custom avatar. Check off tasks to level up your avatar and unlock features such as armor, pets, skills, and even quests! Fight monsters with friends to keep each other accountable and use your gold on in-game rewards...Habitica is the perfect way to motivate yourself to accomplish anything” (insert from the in-game description on Google Play).

Game-U Accelerate

Game-U Accelerate is "designed by game industry professionals, teaches students of all abilities, including those with special needs, how to design and build their own video games. The students will learn game design, coding, and robotics with our STEM-based curriculum (insert from Game-U website)." The accelerate course is for youth and young adults of all walks of life to dive into game development.

The SPAN Youth Chat will be on break on August 25th and return on September 1st. All youth and young adults (past or present attendees) will receive an email with a poll. This poll will collect information on preferred times to host the youth chats for the upcoming Fall season. Thank you for your continuous support.
