Today, many young people are learning that they do not have to wait until they are adults to start working toward their goals. With the internet, online tools, and support from teachers and mentors, it is easier than ever to turn an idea into a small business. What once seemed difficult or far away is now possible from home, school, or anywhere.
Young Adults Starting their Own Businesses
Starting a business can be exciting and empowering for youth. It gives them a chance to explore their interests, build real-world skills, and grow their confidence. Whether they sell handmade items, offer services, or create content online, young entrepreneurs learn how to think creatively and solve problems.
The YouTube video “More young adults starting their own businesses” by CBS explains that more young adults are choosing to start their own businesses instead of working traditional jobs. It shares examples of young people in the community who have launched their own companies and talks about why they decided to do it. Many say they want more freedom, flexibility, and control over their work.

For many youth—including those with disabilities—owning a business can also offer flexibility and independence. They can create work that fits their strengths, needs, and schedules. This can make entrepreneurship a more comfortable and inclusive option than some traditional jobs. Starting a business does take planning and effort. Young adults need to learn about money, marketing, customer service, and managing their time. However, with the right support and guidance, youth can turn their ideas into real opportunities.
The Business News Daily article, “15 Companies Founded by Amazing Young Entrepreneurs,” shares stories about young people who started successful businesses. It gives short descriptions of their companies and explains how they got started. The goal is to inspire readers by showing real examples of creativity and hard work.
