Youth MOVE National is a group led by young people, for young people. We’re all about improving systems like mental health care, schools, foster care, and juvenile justice, especially for youth who’ve been through tough times. MOVE stands for Motivating Others through Voices of Experience, and that’s what we do: speak up, share our stories, and push for real change. We believe youth, especially underserved communities often left out, deserve to be heard, respected, and included in the decisions that impact their lives. Through leadership, peer support, and advocacy, we’re making sure youth voices lead the way.
Through My Reality, by Paige Martin (she/they) Read a personal story about Paige's experience with psychosis while in college. Paige talks about feeling scared, confused, and alone, and how one small act of kindness from a counselor made them feel seen and cared for. With support from a program called EASA, they got help that focused on understanding and healing, not just fixing. Paige learned to live with the voices and visions they experienced by treating them with care and setting healthy boundaries. Paige now works at Youth MOVE National and encourages others going through similar struggles to know they are not broken and reminds professionals to listen and believe in the people they support.
Youth MOVE National's Expanding Access Podcast In an episode of the Expanding Access Podcast, Arc Telos "Tay" Saint Amour, Executive Director of Youth MOVE National, shares their lived experience as a queer, trans, disabled person of color navigating child welfare, homelessness, the justice system, and behavioral health. They highlight how traditional systems often fail 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, calling instead for equity-driven approaches like peer support rooted in trust, agency, and love. Arc defends social media as a vital source of connection for queer youth and urges a shift away from viewing young people as problems to fix, emphasizing the need to center their voices in transforming care systems.
