Staying Focused

 In a world full of distractions, it can be hard to control ourselves and stay focused on current tasks. Training your brain to develop a focused mindset allows you to complete goals faster, giving you more time yourself on other things in life.   

Five Ways To Avoid Distraction 

Staying on task can be difficult, especially if what you're currently doing isn't all that exciting. While this mindset is very common in children, young adults can also have trouble avoiding distractions.  

Five Ways To Avoid Distraction, from the YouTube channel BBC Ideas, is a five minute video hosted by author Nir Eyal. In it, Eyal gives five tips for avoiding/ignoring distractions. These tips, like turning off social media and planning out your day are great ways to avoid procrastination.

Improving Concentration

So you're trying to focus more, but there's still times where you find yourself lost instead of locked in. For those looking for further advice, Harvard Medical School has an article about the causes of a wandering mind, and how certain mental exercises that can help overcome distractions.

The Art of Self Discipline

Finally, let's cover the art of self discipline, or the ability to keep going and push yourself beyond your normal limits. Self discipline has many great benefits for those that commit to it. Improved mood, work ethic, confidence, and more are common in those that use self discipline to better themselves. 

Mindtools.com published a blog post that further explores the concept of self discipline, how to develop it, and includes more benefits than those previously mentioned. The blog also answers many common questions about self-discipline.
