Positive Forces

When we're experiencing stress, anger, or sadness, we're more likely to respond negatively, which can lead to poor decision-making and bad attitudes later on. A great example of the power of positivity is in the story of Brad Lomax. Despite going through great adversity during the Civil Rights Movement, Lomax used his disability and the power of positivity to affect great change. Taken from an article from leadonnetwork.org:

"In the 1970’s Bradley Lomax was an Oakland resident and member of the Black Panther Party (BPP). He also had Multiple Sclerosis and used a wheelchair...

Lomax’s active participation in disability advocacy, they began supporting other initiatives, most notably the historic 504 sit-ins to force the government to implement Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act...

Bradley Lomax was an active participant in the sit-in, a sacrifice which much affected his disability later in life, and afterwards was a member the contingent that took the disability message to Washington DC. situations."

This week's activity is all about trivia, specifically Black History trivia. On heywise.com, there's a trivia quiz containing facts about some of the most famous African-Americans in U.S history. Alongside the questions, there's also multiple facts and each figure, perfect for any aspiring trivia or history nerds out looking to learn about Black history.
