Screen Time: How Much Is Too Much?

It's essential to know the difference between passive "screen time" and quality "screen time." Watch this 5-minute video, "Screen Time: How Much Is Too Much?" by the YouTube channel Above the Noise. The video explains all the minor but significant differences between passive and quality screen time while also explaining how often we are in front of a screen every day and whether it's healthy for us at all.

If you're looking to manage and/or keep track of how often your family is on screens, check out the We Can! Screen Time Chart, a simple chart that allows you to track how often you and your loved ones are behind screens.

Lastly, you might want to start correctly healthily balancing your screen time depending on your new findings. Our last resource is a quick list of steps to properly balance quality and passive screen time. These steps include keeping healthy snacks around for when you're online or turning off notifications before bed.

How often do you look at a screen during the day? Will you change your screen habits? Let us know in the comments below! For youth and young adults, ages 13-26, join us on the SPAN Youth Chat on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:00 PM.
